Overcoming Business Continuity Challenges in the Public Sector


On 11th February 2020 ClearView Continuity will be running an event specifically for Business Continuity and Resilience teams within public sector and local authority organisations.

‘Overcoming Business Continuity Challenges in the Public Sector’ is a free workshop which will explore the challenges faced by public sector business continuity and emergency managers when it comes to managing and promoting business continuity.

Delegates from various local authorities and other public sector organisations will be invited to discuss their business continuity issues and gain mutual support from other delegates who share the same challenges or who have found ways to address them in their organisation.

The event will take place under Chatham House Rules and the sessions will be informal and roundtable in format. Experts from ClearView will also be on hand to provide input and lessons-learned from many years working on and implementing business continuity frameworks in organisations of all shapes and sizes.

Issues that the workshop expects to cover include:

  • How to integrate business continuity and emergency planning;
  • Handling incident communications across a wide range of stakeholders and responders;
  • How to manage major incident response and the associated business continuity invocations efficiently and effectively;
  • Bringing a wide-range of Microsoft Word and Excel based plan documents into a central location;
  • Ensuring rapid access to appropriate plans in all situations, even when Internet connectivity is lost;
  • Managing business continuity exercises across a large but disparate organisation;
  • Managing critical supplier business continuity compliance;
  • Maintaining visibility of key staff and their actions during an incident;
  • Communicating with local businesses, the voluntary sector, and other external organizations during an incident.
